Heart Health Month Community Screening

Understand Your Stress. Strengthen Your Resilience.

Your heart is always listening to your nervous system. With every breath, every shift in focus, every demand placed on your body, it responds. That responsiveness is known as Heart Rate Variability (HRV). And it may be one of the most meaningful indicators of how well your body is truly adapting to life.

In honor of Heart Health Month, Cheshire Wellness Center is opening its doors to the Keene community with complimentary HRV Stress and Resilience Screenings throughout February. This is not a medical appointment. It’s an educational experience designed to give you real data about how your nervous system is functioning, in a supportive, welcoming environment.

What Is HRV and Why Does It Matter?

Heart Rate Variability measures the variation in time between each heartbeat. When that variation is higher, your autonomic nervous system is more adaptable and better equipped to shift between states of effort and recovery.

When it’s lower, it can reflect stored stress, reduced resilience, and, over time, increased cardiovascular risk.

True health is not simply the absence of symptoms. It is the capacity to adapt. HRV gives us a window into that capacity, and understanding it can be the first step toward something deeper.

What to Expect During Your Screening

Each visit takes approximately 20 minutes and is completed with a trained clinical team member. There is no pressure and no obligation. You are welcome simply as a member of this community.

During your visit, you will:

  • Receive a non-invasive 5-minute HRV scan
  • Review your personal results with a clinical team member
  • Learn what sympathetic and parasympathetic balance means for your health
  • Take home educational handouts to support your continued awareness
  • Leave with greater awareness about how your body is responding to stress

If, after your screening, you would like to schedule a full evaluation with one of the doctors, that option is always available. It’s entirely your choice.

Research Supporting NetworkSpinal and HRV

Published peer-reviewed research has examined the relationship between NetworkSpinal care and Heart Rate Variability. In a study of 46 subjects, HRV was measured at baseline and again after 90 days of care. Individuals with lower initial HRV scores showed statistically significant improvement, reflecting greater autonomic balance and reduced physiological stress. Male participants demonstrated particularly notable gains.

This research supports what the practice sees in its members every day: that when the nervous system is given the right support, the body’s innate capacity for healing and adaptation can be restored.
